PERFORM2Scale partners coming together for initial workshop

Partners for the new PERFORM 2scale project will be coming together for the first project workshop, being held at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine on 27th – 31st March 2017.

PERFORM2scale is bringing to scale a management strengthening intervention approach originally developed by the original PERFORM project, which ran from 2012 to 2016, and used action research to improve performance through strengthening the capacity of district health managers in Ghana, Uganda and Tanzania. Management teams developed “bundles” of human resource management and health systems strategies to implement over an 18-month period.

Building on the success of the intervention and the PERFORM project, PERFORM2Scale is now scaling up this approach in 3 countries, through a coalition of 7 partners. These partners are:

  • Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM)
  • School of Public Health, University of Ghana (SPHG)
  • REACH Trust, Malawi
  • Makerere School of Public Health (MUSPH), Uganda
  • Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH)
  • Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), Amsterdam
  • Centre for Global Health, Trinity College, Dublin

The project is running from January 2017 for 5 years.

At this initial project workshop, partners will be reviewing overall objectives of the project and developing the ‘work packages’ which make up the project, focusing on planning the Year 1 activities.
