New paper from the PERFORM project
A new paper - Health worker transfer processes within the public health sector in Ghana: a study of three districts in the Eastern Region - has just been published.
The lack of appropriate policies and procedures to ensure transparent transfer practices is an important source of dissatisfaction among health workers in low- and middle-income countries. This study aimed to (1) identify rationales behind transfer decisions in Ghana and (2) to examine how transfers are managed in practice versus in policies, with a view to gaining a more in-depth and context-specific understanding of the issue.
The data for the paper was gathered during the PERFORM programme, PERFORM2Scale's predecessor, and the paper was produced by consortium staff from the School of Public Health at the University of Ghana and Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute.
